Welcome to our small light of science
Odd observation sparks a class experiment
22 April 2008 One of the observations we do every year is place celery in water that has been treated with food color so that we can observe the xylem When I returned Monday and checked the celery I noticed something odd about the plants. When I asked my students to look at the plants, they also notice. Can you see in the picture below what we thought was a bit strange?
Read the article by Katie and McKenzie in our Research Center titled "Celery mystery" where they share our discovery and how it lead to our next class experiment.
