Microwaved water will:

  • harm the living organisms in the aquarium - 2 student votes
  • not affect the living organisms in the aquarium - 22 student votes

Experiment design:

Overview of procedures:

We will maintain 2 ten-gallon aquariums with identical populations of fish and plants. Water chemistry and all other factors in the 2 aquariums will be kept as close to matching as possible.

  • Sample size: 2 ten aquariums (1 experiment, 1 control), equally populated.
  • Vended bottled water from Glacier Water Off site link - opens in new window will be used throughout the experiment.
  • Duration: To be decided - we plan to run the experiment through May or April.
